Cultivating Cutting-Edge Programs

Debuting in July 2026, the Emerging Studies Institute (ESI) offers entrepreneurial leadership to facilitate the development of new undergraduate, graduate, certificate, custom executive education and non-degree programs across Georgetown.

We leverage expertise from renowned Georgetown faculty and institutes to launch focused and interdisciplinary offerings in the tradition of Georgetown’s educational excellence.

Our Services

Identifying need and conceptualizing programs

We work hand-in-hand with faculty, staff, schools and administrators across Georgetown to identify areas of opportunity for educational programming and guide the ideation, market research, development and launch of new offerings.

We also partner with outside organizations that are interested in designing custom education programs for their teams. Our subject matter experts from Georgetown’s faculty and staff can provide expertise on wide-ranging topics to serve your pressing needs.

Connecting stakeholders

Creating new programs involves significant coordination, and we connect individuals, schools and units to set programs up for success at all phases of development. We also maintain and manage resources integral to this process.

Establishing strong foundations

Our team of program development specialists will partner with you to evaluate program viability throughout the development process. Programs developed with our collaboration will launch as part of the Emerging Studies Institute, and we facilitate the transition of mature programs to their permanent homes within a supportive Georgetown school or unit.
